Professional wrestling has long been a sport defined by the ability to construct and inhabit a character with total conviction, and few performers in the modern era have demonstrated that skill more effectively than Jorge Luis Alcantar Bolly. Born on 30 April 1984 in Mexico, Alcantar grew up in a family where wrestling was not simply a profession but a generational calling. His father is El Fantasma, a celebrated luchador who heads the Mexico City Boxing and Professional Wrestling commission. His cousin wrestles as Fantasma Jr. and his uncle performed under the name Angel de la Muerte. The sport runs through this family as a defining thread.

Alcantar began his career in 2000 under a mask and the ring name Top Secret, wearing a black mask with gold trim around the eye openings. The independent circuit was his proving ground, and he used those years to develop the in-ring technique and physical conditioning that would serve him throughout a long career. In 2003 he underwent a transformation that publicly announced his lineage. He became El Hijo del Fantasma, meaning The Son of El Fantasma, and adopted a mask closely modeled on the one worn by his father, itself inspired by the comic book character The Phantom. His first documented match under this new identity saw him team with his father and cousin Fantasma Jr. to defeat Los Oficiales, a trio composed of Guardia, Oficial, and Vanguardia, at an International Wrestling Revolution Group show on 14 December.

After departing IWRG in 2004, Alcantar signed with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, one of Mexico's premier wrestling organizations. His CMLL debut came on 11 April 2008 in a trios match where he partnered with La Máscara and Valiente to defeat Ephesto, Misterioso II, and Sangre Azteca. His partnership with La Máscara and Héctor Garza quickly became one of the promotion's most notable alliances. On 31 July 2008, at the prestigious Infierno en el Ring event, the trio defeated Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., and Místico in a tournament final to claim the vacant CMLL World Trios Championship, though they lost it just days later on 5 August to the combination of Atlantis, Negro Casas, and Último Guerrero.

The trios title returned to them on 18 January 2009 in a rematch, and Alcantar's individual career also surged forward. On 21 July 2009, he defeated Averno to capture the CMLL World Middleweight Championship, one of the company's most respected singles titles. He showcased his value at the CMLL 76th Anniversary Show on 18 September 2009, teaming with El Sagrado and Máscara Dorada to defeat Poder Mexica. His run with the middleweight title ended on 14 February 2010 when Negro Casas took the championship from him. Friction within the trios team also emerged in early 2010 when Garza's behavior became erratic and suspect, sowing doubt about his loyalty.

In 2013, Alcantar departed CMLL and signed with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, the rival Mexican promotion. His time in AAA brought further championship success: he captured the AAA Fusión Championship, the AAA Latin American Championship, and the 2017 Copa Antonio Peña, a prestigious tournament honoring the memory of AAA's founder. He also became the longest-reigning AAA World Cruiserweight Champion in the promotion's history at that time, a record that underscored his staying power at the top of the card.

Beyond Mexico's two major promotions, Alcantar built a resume that crossed borders and styles. In 2014, he appeared in the American promotion Lucha Underground under the character King Cuerno, a hunter persona that gave him a distinctive visual identity and allowed him to demonstrate his range. He also made appearances for Impact Wrestling between 2017 and 2019, accumulating experience with North American audiences before his most significant international move.

In 2019, Alcantar departed AAA and signed with WWE. His debut came in the developmental brand NXT, where he quickly established himself as a dominant force. In 2020 he adopted the ring name Santos Escobar, a character positioned as the ruthless leader of a faction called Legado Del Fantasma, an echo of his family name translated into a new context. Under this identity he captured the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, cementing his standing in the promotion.

Alcantar's career arc reflects the breadth of professional wrestling's modern landscape, tracing a path from Mexican independent shows through the heights of CMLL and AAA to WWE's international platform. Each chapter built on the one before, shaped by a family heritage that gave him both his earliest training and the symbolic mask that defined his in-ring identity.
